Dental Health Month

Hi everyone!!

It's been a while since I have posted here and to be honest, I have been crazy busy with life and work that I have also neglected my little spot in the blogosphere.

I sure hope others can relate to the craziness teacher's call life.

I wanted to share some of my favorite pins for Dental Health month. In Kindergarten, we have really been focusing on what it means to keep our teeth healthy. Oftentimes, our kidlets don't have any exposure to proper dental hygiene anywhere else but school, so it is our jobs as teachers to make sure they know a little about it so they can stay healthy.

I would love for someone to come to our school to put on a presentation like the one done at Susan's, from Thank God It's First Grade, school. I will definitely be looking into it for next year, and if no one wants to come I will do something similar myself. The kids will love it.

Turn That Trash Into Back To School Treasures

Hi friends. This is Heidi from My (Not So) Elementary Life. I am here today to share some fun and functional pins for back to school.
I love taking things that could just be thrown away and making them into something new. A lot of the things that I pin come back to this concept. I am going to share a few of my recent favorites with you today.

Take Crystal Light Containers and Modge Podge some paper on them, add a magnet or some other hanging device, and use them to hold writing utensils.

Use glass mason jars and paint the inside of them to match the color of crayon they are going to hold. Could also me done with plastic containers.

    Use old paint cans or peanut cans and attach scrapbook paper to create a cute canisters for holding school supplies.

Use the big plastic cups you can get from Walmart and attach pegs to them to be used as hanging writing instrument holders on a pegboard

Use socks as white board erasers and put the marker inside the sock so there is not fighting over the color they get

My favorite Trash To Treasure: Take a tissue box and create a monster or some other “creature” out of it and then use it as a Tattle Monster… I plan on creating this, but making it into something else. I will most definitely be back to share with you in the near future

I LOVE taking things that you would ordinarily throw away and turning them into something that I can use. I am thrifty so the cheaper the better

I Pledge Allegience to the Flag...

Hi there everyone. I am Heidi from My (Not So) Elementary Life. I am stopping by to share some of my Patriotic pins with you, just in time for the 4th of July. Just click on the picture to take you to the source.

This is a simple and cute treat to take to any patriotic picnic. The kids will love them.

 

I LOVE this sign. There is a free download at the link. I plan to get it printed and put in a frame for on my mantle. 

I am loving the look of banners right now. I think this one is really cute.

 

Isn't this just adorable. You can do this with your students for different patriotic holiday's or your own children. This is a must do when I have my own babies :) (This one I do not have the actual link to, but you can get the idea from just looking at the picture.)

And lastly...another banner that I love. It is simple yet can add a touch of flair to any space. I actually like this one so much that I decided to create my own version of it to hang on my mantle.

I LOVE how it turned out and it was sooo easy. (My patriotic mantle decor is a work in progress. I will be adding more to it later. I plan to add the Pledge of Allegiance print from above and maybe some flags and flowers.)
