Halloween Pin Party!

I'm starting our week long Halloween Pin Party! 

My first pin will, hopefully, make you all chuckle a bit! I saw this cute idea on Doodle Bugs and knew I had to make my own version of these silly pumpkins. How can you resist the charm of these little cuties?

Here's a really cute craft that my first graders are going to do at our Fall Party.

Who Am I? Class Book Freebie

I love making lots of class books during the school year. One of my favorites is called Who Am I? I got this idea from this pin from April's blog, Chalk Talk.

When I saw April's idea last year, I knew I had to make this book with my kindergarten class. It came out really cute and was read over and over again. When you put the children's work in page protectors, make sure to put their self portrait in the same page protector as their writing, back to back. That way, when they are reading it, first they read the writing, then they guess who it may be, then they turn the page to confirm. I always put my class books in 1/2 inch binders and stick the pretty cover in the clear view front pocket. If you would like to make this class book, just click on the image below.

Some of my favorite pins!

Hello, everyone! My name is Lori and I am the author of Teaching With Love and Laughter. I teach grades K-2 and have been teaching for almost 18 years. I am an avid pinner, as you can see by the amount of boards and pins that I have.

Sadly, though, I have been having lots of Pinterest problems. That is why it has taken me so long to post here. On most days, this is what I see when I attempt to find new things to pin.

Most of the images will not load. I tried several times to contact the Pinterest people, but, they are too busy to get back to me. I've tried many different ways to fix the problem, but, none of them are working. I'm just devastated because I just love pinning. Well, at least I can still pin. I just can't see what I've pinned! Boo-hoo.


Today, I am having some Pinterest luck. I was able to search for some of my favorite pins, so I decided to come here and (try) to share them with you. Wish me luck!


I loved this writing scale from the minute I saw it at First Grade Lyon's Den. I bet it's been pinned a million times!

It motivated me to make my own first grade version. My students refer to it all the time. As a writing teacher, I can't live without it!

I was so excited when I saw this picture at Sprinkles to Kindergarten. 

No more crazy dice being rolled off the table and across the room. Have you seen these little containers at the Dollar Store? All you do is put your game dice in one and tape it closed. Instead of rolling the dice, the children just shake it. It's like a dream come true!

The next pin comes from Prek- Pages.

What a great way to easily store all my stamps. Love it!

Look at how I store my colored paper ever since I saw this pin at Two Things in Common. It fits so nicely in the bottom draw of my file cabinet and it's so easy to get the ream I need.

I loved this poster from First Grade Garden from the minute I saw it!

I made my own, but I guess I never took a picture of it. I was able to find just a little spec of it in the corner of picture I took of my students. Can you see it on the right side, under MLK? I use this poster all the time when my children are sitting on the carpet. I call it "Mini Me." My students think it's me from when I was little and I tell them to sit like "Mini Me." They love it!

My last pin for today is from Mrs. Richardson'c Class. The DeBug System.

I printed it on colored paper and hung it on my whiteboard. I taught my students how to use it and it works like a charm. For a detailed description of how to use it, click on the image. Mrs. Richardson offers it as a freebie. Love it!
